THE ANTIQUE HILOT THERAPY

     Hilot is composed of a broad knowledge.  It is like a tree with various branches of specialization.  Its pain healing treatment serves as a defence or preventive measure to avoid the occurrence of more serious body ailments.  This therapeutic massage is of significant value from the childhood stage until the old age of a man.  Not to mention, it can serve even the infant who is still in the bosom of the mother.  This antique art is to be considered mysterious.  Mysterious in the sense that no one knows when and where the art was really founded.  Nobody knows who is the mysterious founder of the art.  There exists no history record of its development nor any kind of the written antique book could be found.  There is no formal and organized lectures done for the transfer of the knowledge to the succeeding generations.  And, not even a single record of information about the former healers is traceable.  The only traceable marks left are the copper pendants with different sizes, shapes and engraved marks which were worn by the ancient healers and were handed down to the next generations.  During the past generations the antique pendants were considered mysterious.  The old people who bear the pendants have strong faith that those could provide them mystic abilities.  The antique hilot is in the phase of its revival in this third millennium serving not only a single race.      The traditional transfer of the technical-know-how is hereditary by nature.  The art of healing is exclusively taught and practiced by the persons who belong to the family clans of the former antique healers.  Sad to mention, the rapid growth of literacy during the last century of the second millennium created the negative attitude among the Filipino people as influenced by the western modern culture.  The aging practitioners of the antique art could no longer find from among their children the sincere interest to inherit the knowledge.  The becoming educated generation was befogged by the modernization and taught hilot is an obsolete art because it is a product of the old unscientific generation.  The children of the healers who spent time and effort to finish the professional careers do not have the initiative to follow the footsteps of their parents.  As to economic factor, genuine hilot practitioners in the antique time until the early years after the second world war rendered services without tariff.  This follows the old rule, the healers never sell the gift of knowledge which was received free from the parents.  The new rule for this third millennium states that the workers should be paid.

     The body internal temperature accelerates to be higher than the normal when the body is in continuous motion or the body is under a very hot environment.  The filtered body liquid exits in the pores of the skin in the form of sweat to regulate the temperature of the body.  The sweating process is one of the natural defence mechanisms which does not only regulates the body temperature but also regulates the internal pressure in the internal systems of the body.  It is a natural system that assists in the protection of the body cells.  The sweating body, however, is very vulnerable for the occurrence of the blocks in the muscular system.  The contact of the cold temperature to the sweating body causes the body filtered liquid to solidify in the external parts of the muscular system.

PAINS ON THE HIPS AND LEGS

     The physical body of the human being may survive and may live even without one foot or one leg, or even without both of the legs.  There are many people living around the world who are footless or legless specially in the countries where the war has occurred or is happening.  The physical injury which has severely damage the skeletal parts of the legs usually end into the amputation of the damaged part.  The sciatic nerve system which is responsible for the sensibility of the body part affected is also one of the considerations for the amputation.  This generation and the future that are still to come must be thankful for the rapid advancement of the modern medical science in the field of surgical operations.  This particular field of the medical science had saved people and will save still the millions of lives who shall be the unfortunate victims of serious illnesses and accidents, or the people who will be victims of the wars.

     The Foetus Form.  This is the most fundamental form or basic body position in the conduct of the meditation exercise.  This is the usual position of the pagans during the conduct of their traditional spiritual rituals.  The foetus form is used by the practitioners of the ancient martial arts during the formal conduct of the ceremonial bowing before and after every regular training session.  The form is similar to the position performed by the followers of the Moslem people and the other antique clans and tribes while doing their regular religious, traditional and cultural rituals.  The position is one of the antique manners in the salutation of the slave to his superiors or to his king.  The foetus position (Figure 1a) is also adopted by the other antique disciplines which are concerned with the propagation of their accepted doctrines on spiritual energy.  This form used during the internal energy exercise is the attempt of the individual to return to the original position of an infant while in the womb of the mother.

     In the foetus position, the external parts of cervical bones and backbone are stretched and curved outward.  This position tries to increase the distance of every vertebrae in the external part.  The internal parts of the backbone the vertebra are compressed to be at closer distance to each other.  The fully bent knee joints stretch the muscles, tendons and sciatic nerves.  The position also causes the natural pressing of the cartilages in the bone joints.  This is also true on the hips.  The anklets are stretch liberating the tendons of every toes in the feet.  The heels and the parts of the femur joints are pressing each other.  This mutual pressing helps liberate the bones of the heels and the heads of the femur bones.  The interior parts of the muscular system of the folded legs are pressing each other set forth by the body weight.  The arms are to be placed in calm position in front of the body or to support calmly the head.  The mind concentrates and the calm deep breathing is done while the body is in the proper position.

     The perfect position of the foetus form could not be easily attained when there are blocks in the muscular system of the body.  The presence of the blocks in the knee joints and hip joints could also be the cause of the difficulties in the performance of the form in the perfect manner.  The foetus form needs the flexibility of the bone joints and toned muscular system.  The perfect form could be attained gradually through the help of the full calm breathing which facilitate the flow of body liquid to lubricate the dry parts of the body.  The massage therapy treatments may also be of help for the toning of the muscular system and the healing of the blocks existing in the knee joints and in the hip joints.  At the initial trials for this position, there are possibilities that pains in the bone joints, articulations and leg muscular system will be felt.  The pains are symptoms for the existence of blocks in the passages of the elements which provide energy to the human body.  The pains will gradually diminish as the performer continues and resists against these body pains.  Through the constant practice, the elasticity of the body parts will be attained and the foetus form could be done in the perfect manner.

 

     The Kneeling Form.  There are two alternate positions for the kneeling form.  One of the kneeling positions in the meditation exercises is similar to the traditional position of the Christian while doing the spiritual prayer (Figure 2).  The other position for the kneeling form is like the traditional/cultural body position of the Shinto followers and the Taoist.  This is also the common position of the Buddhists (Figure 3).  The backbone should be placed in the proper equilibrium where the energy of the muscular system is not exerted.  This form of the exercise tries to elongate and straighten the curves of the cervical bones and the backbone.  The person should maintain the cervical bones and the backbone in stretched and elongated position while performing the calm full respiration following the rhythm as desired by the lungs.  There will be an increase in the frequency of the respiration process should there be the above-normal emergence of toxic gaseous elements due to the effects of the stretching of cervical bones, backbone and the ribs.  The calm frequency of the breathing will follow when the out-flow of the toxic gaseous elements returns to its normal condition.

     The body position at equilibrium provides a larger internal space for the needed calm full breathing.  This allows the lungs to function at its maximum phase.  The stretching and elongating of the cervical bones aim to liberate the sciatic nerves around the neck which are connected to the arms and body.  The position searches to stretch the tendons, cartilages and muscles in the neck.  The stretching and elongating of the backbone helps in liberating every vertebrae, the ribs and the sciatic nerves which are parallel to the ribs.  It assists in the toning of the muscular system in the front and at the back of the body.  It tries to elongate the tendons connected in every toe of the feet.  The kneeling position also helps to liberate the sciatic nerves in the belly of the body and in the legs.  The position could liberate the knee joints and the hip joints of the possible existing blocks.  The person whose knees and anklets are not well reach by the blood and body liquid will suffer the pain when performing this position.  The person should resist the pain as caused by the body weight pressing on the calcification.  This will help the entrance of the blood and body liquid which shall gradually melt the solidified body liquid.

     The Crossed Legs Form.  This is the casual position of the young child while sitting in the floor or in the crib while at play (Figure 4).  This is also the usual sitting position of the members of all the ancient martial arts organizations while at rest in their training hall.  This form of sitting position is also adopted by the members of the organizations which are propagating the other antique doctrines about many types of energies.  The followers of some of the antique religions and sects are also using this position during the conduct of their rituals and spiritual meditation.  This is the hardest position to be performed perfectly among all the other forms for the beginners.  Always remember that the patience in the sufferance of the pains bear fruits and every sacrifice suffered is not done in vane.  To perform the proper position of the crossed legs form, the person should sit flat in the floor with the two legs folded in front crossed with each other.  The contacting parts of the two legs are pressing each other while in the cross leg position.  This pressing serves as the automatic natural self massage.  The upper body searches the position at equilibrium with the sacral bone controlling the balance of all the vertebra of the backbone.  The exertion of the energy by the muscular system should be avoided during the performance of the position.  The arms are calmly stretch and placed over the knees in the relax position.  The person should search to elongate the cervical bones and straighten the entire backbone similar to the kneeling form.  The healing of the curves in the backbone could be possibly achieved gradually through the performance of the various forms of internal energy exercises.

     The performer should try to do first an analytical study of the curves in his backbone.  The calm flexing of the backbone should be performed opposite to the curves evading the utilization of the muscular energy.  The flexing is done calmly using the force of the tendons, cartilages and sciatic nerves.  The objective is to straighten the backbone during the period of the meditation exercise.  While the backbone is flexed opposite to the curve, the person should concentrate and perform calm deep respiration.  Through this method the bones and the embracing cartilages will gradually change for the better positions.  Every vertebrae of the backbone and the cervical bones will be gradually liberated.  The most important objective of this form is the liberation of the sacral bone and the hip joints.  The sciatic nerves that are originating from the lumbar zone and running along the legs should be liberated including the tendons and cartilages which are surrounding the hip joints.  The liquid flow within the cartilages and around the bones which serve for the lubrication will be helped by this meditation exercise.  There is the possibility for the increase in the frequency rate of the respiration due to the increase in the release of toxic gaseous elements set forth by the pressing of the flexed parts of the body.  The increased rate of frequency in the respiration, however, will later on return into the usual rhythm when the exit of the toxic gaseous elements returns into normal.

     The Infant Form.  This body form for the internal energy exercise is patterned to the body position of the young infant while awake in the crib (Figure 5).  The months-old infant has the physical energy sufficient only to move the hands and to raise the legs.  For the few months the normal infant remains idle in the position and does not has the capacity to twist nor to turn and change the position of the body.  The usual position of the awake infant in the crib is with the belly facing upward and with the legs commonly suspended in the air.  This typical position of the infant is vitally used for the physical internal energy meditation exercise.  The body of the performer is set relax in the floor or bed with the belly facing upward similar to the infant.  The pillow may be used to support the head during the conduct of the exercise.  The legs are folded on the knees and suspended up in the position wherein the muscular system of the legs are exerting the least force.  The arms are set in the relax position over the body or in the sides of the body.  The performer concentrate to elongate and straighten the backbone.  The concentration and calm deep breathing are done while in this position.

     This meditation exercise supports the maintenance and the building up of the physical internal energy particularly the energy that flows in the trunk of the body.  The exercise helps maintain each vertebrae of the backbone free and well lubricated.  This position executed in the meditation exercise helps achieve the healthy normal position of the backbone.  The position helps in the maintenance of the flexibility of the ribs and supports the health of the sciatic nerves which are all connected along the vertebra of the backbone.  This position particularly helps to liberate the sciatic nerves that are along the lumbar zone which control the sensibility and movements of the legs.  This position of the body also helps the movement and flow of the blood and the body liquid at the back of the body and in the legs.

     The Sphinx.  This is the body position or body form which is similar to a lion resting in its belly (Figure 6).  The body is laid flat with the belly touching the floor or the bed.  The backbone is stretched and bent backward which is opposite in the manner the foetus form is executed.  The backward bend is more concentrated in the dorsal part of the backbone while elongating the cervical bones.  The curving of the backbone and the elongation of the cervical bones try to pull up the sacral bones.  The upper body is supported by the arms through the elbows at equilibrium.  The body is set in the relax position and in the manner that the arms are not exerting muscular energy.  The inner parts of the cervical bones and the backbone are stretched to widen the distance between every vertebrae.  The outer parts of the cervical bones and the backbone are compressed by the backward bend of the body.  The meditation exercise should always be accompanied by calm deep breathing.

     One of the objectives of the exercise is to stretch out and elongate the neck and place it in good form.  This exercise places the neck into proper position and also simultaneously checks the proper position of the shoulder bones.  When the neck is curving badly and becoming shorter than the normal, these severely affects the functioning of the sciatic nerves that are present around the neck.  This exercise stretches all the sciatic nerves in the neck connected to the arms and the interior systems of the body.  The stretching searches to liberate the sciatic nerves from the possible existing blocks, both in the outside and the inside.  It helps in the toning of the muscular system of the neck.  The backward bend of the backbone at the dorsal part helps to liberate the ribs and sciatic nerves particularly in the front of the body.  It assists the normal flow of the body filtered liquid inside and outside of every ribs.

 

     The Snake Form.  In this form the person is in lying position similar to the sphinx meditation form.  There are three major differences between the sphinx form and the snake form of meditations.  In the sphinx or lion form the upper body is supported by the elbows while in the snake form the upper body is supported by the arms with the palms touching the ground.  The second difference is that, in the sphinx form the backward bend is concentrated in the dorsal part of the backbone while in the snake form the backward bend is concentrated in the lumbar area and the hips.  The third difference is that in the sphinx form the face searches to look upward while in the snake form the face searches to maintain the position facing directly forward.  Thus, the bending of the cervical bones are opposite between the sphinx and snake forms (Figure 7).  The arms are to be placed in such a manner wherein the muscular system is in the relax position.  The shoulders are set like in the position of the sphinx form.  The backbone is stretch to be positioned in ‘S’ form similar to the position of an angry cobra.  The meditation and the calm deep breathing should be done while the person is in this position.

     The meditation exercise in the snake form could straighten and elongate the neck by liberating the cervical bones.  This also stretches the backbone particularly the lumbar zone and the sacral bones.  The ‘S’ position performed in the snake form helps to liberate every vertebrae in the backbone.  The liberation of the vertebra in the backbone also helps in liberating the sciatic nerves and the ribs in the trunk of the body.  The stretching tries to liberate all the sciatic nerves in the legs which are linked to the vertebra of the lumbar zone.  It also tries to liberate the sacral bones to the surrounding and adjoining parts.  This also stretches the muscular system in the belly to liberate the sciatic nerves in the frontal parts of the body.  Similar to the sphinx form, this helps in the maintenance of the flexibility of the ribs and the surrounding parts.

     The Crucified Form.  The position of the body in the conduct of the meditation exercise for the internal energy is similar to the position performed by the Catholic nuns and priests during their traditional religious rituals (Figure 8).  The crucified meditation form for the internal energy requires the body to be laid flat with the belly touching down the floor.  This could be done also while the belly is facing up, the opposite position (Figure 9).  The whole body is in the relax position with both arms spread sideward letting the body to be in the form similar to a cross.  The face may be fronting the floor, or in the right or left side, and the calm deep breathing is done.  The knees is touching the ground with the feet stretch in the anklets.  The knees may also be set facing sideward to stretch the joints in the hips.  The crucified form of meditation is the final form which facilitate the flow of energy freely in the entirety of the body.

     The crucified position of the meditation stretches to liberate the sciatic nerves that are connected from the neck to the arms.  This form helps the body not only through liberating and strengthening of the nerve systems but also helps to ease the problems of pains in the shoulder joints and the arms.  The people with pains in the shoulders and upper arms will suffer pains during the execution of this meditation exercise.  This form of the meditation gradually helps the eradication of the shoulder pain problems of the individual.  The crucified form of meditation is one of the most effective methods in maintaining the physical internal energy for the totality of the body.

THE SECRETS ON RESPIRATION

AND BODY FLEXIBILITY

     Hidden in the antique knowledge are the secrets of the relationship between the body flexibility and the respiration.  The person who learns and applies the secret techniques of the respiration during the performance of the physical fitness exercises could attain the training objectives in the shorter period of time.  It is more rapid and easier to attain the body flexibility through the application of the antique knowledge in the body stretching.  It is not the length of time in the training that counts for the person to attain the proper body flexibility.  The person may seriously perform the modern techniques of stretching for many years but will result to less improvement in the body flexibility.  Unless the person applies the correct respiration techniques during the training period the desired body flexibility could never be attained in the shortest possible time.  Similar to the immediate healing effects of the antique therapy, the positive results in the use of the breathing techniques in stretching exercises are felt immediately by the performer.  To prove the truthfulness of the antique knowledge regarding the secrets of the respiration, this very moment anyone may follow these procedures and be a witness right now to the effectiveness of these teachings.

     The first thing to do is to determine the maximum flexibility of your body before the application of the proper respiration techniques.  To determine the maximum flexibility of the body, follow this procedure.  1) Sit erect on a chair with legs close to each other (Figure 10), 2) Do your best to bend the forward for the chest to touch the laps of the legs (Figure 11), 3) Perform several forward bending trials, 4) Remember the maximum reach of the bend of your body while doing the trials.  This maximum reach of the bend will be compared to the final bend of the body right after the application of the antique secret techniques in respiration.

     After the trials are done and the maximum reach of the forward bend is determined follow this body stretching procedure:  1) Sit erect on the chair at equilibrium with the legs together and place the palms of the hands over your laps, 2) Relax the muscular system of the body and look forward focusing the eyes at a certain point, 3) Perform the calm deep breathing for a minute while continuously searching to place the body to be totally relaxed, 4) Bend slowly the body forward while doing the calm deep inhalation without changing the position of the backbone and the focus of the eyes, 5) With the bent position of the body perform the calm deep exhalation, 6) In the same bent position relax the muscular system of the whole body and perform calm respiration without changing the position of the backbone and the focus of the eyes, 7) Without changing the bent position of the body repeat steps 4, 5, and 6 and continue repeating until you reach the maximum bend for this trial, 8) See the result of your final body bend and compare it to the final result of the trials you have done without the application of the breathing techniques.  If you have done the steps properly right now you are a witness to the effectiveness of the secret knowledge.

 

     The Secrets of Humidity And Body Pain.  At this point, let the antique knowledge explains its beliefs about humidity and the body pains.  The humidity indicates the amount of water in the form of vapour present in the atmosphere.  The water vapour is a chemical compound (H2O) in gaseous form.  The water vapour is present in the air that the people are breathing.  Through the normal respiration the water vapour together with the oxygen are injected in the internal systems of human body.  The entrance of the compounds and elements influences the internal pressure and sets forth also the increase of the body internal temperature.  When the water vapour has entered the root systems it changes into liquid form as influenced by the internal body temperature.  The liquid form of water are filtered by the natural mechanism of the body and may flow out in the pores of the skin in the form of sweat.  Aside from the warm effects of the external environment to the body, the increase in the internal pressure and internal temperature in the root systems are also causes why people feel warm internally and sweat when the humidity is high.

     For this reason, the health of the pores in the skin is very vital for the health of the individual.  The water vapour that enters the systems of the human body should exit in the proper time through sweating.  The person sweats perfectly when the skin pores are healthy and in good functioning condition.  There are people who sweat less because the skin pores are not functioning well.  For this reason, the water vapour which is changing into liquid form may accumulates inside the muscular system of the body.  The high humidity could cause body pains for people who are suffering the problem of body calcification.  This is because the water vapour which transformed into liquid form inside the body causes expansion.  The expansion stretches and touches the internal sensitive body parts which are suffering the problem of calcification.  Usually, the humidity level increases first in a locality before the bad weather occurs.  Thus, people with blocks in the systems of the body could feel the pain before the arrival of the bad weather condition.

 

     Preparatory Exercises For Meditation Forms.  For the person who has not done or who has done less of the body stretching exercises during the previous period, there is a necessity to do perform the various preparatory exercises.  The primary objective of the preparatory exercises is to prepare the physical body for the proper execution of the body positions executed during the meditation act.  The various exercises presented are all simple to follow and could be done anytime during the day except right after taking the meal.  These exercises are also recommended for people who are suffering the slight pain problems as may be caused by sciatic nerve inflammation, hernia of the disc and other pains on the hips.  The execution of the exercises may cause disturbances and pains during the initial stage.  However, the body pains will diminish as the elasticity condition of the body are getting better.  For the people who are not suffering body pains, these preparatory exercises together with the exercises intended for the internal energy maintenance will serve as preventive measures.  These preparatory exercises are optional for those people who are already engage with the physical external energy training.

 

Preparatory Exercise 1

     This exercise is geared to improve the elasticity of the bone joints in the lumbar zone and the hips.  The elasticity of the lumbar zone depends on the lubrication of the vertebra and the presence of the body filtered liquid in the cartilages and tendons.  This also depends on the health status of the sciatic nerves which support the legs for the normal sensibility and mobility.  This exercise helps in liberating the sacral bones and provides better lubrication for the cartilages and tendons.  This also helps the blood circulation through the stretching of the muscular system.  To perform this preparatory exercise, follow this procedure: 1) Sit erect on the chair with legs touching each other, 2) Place the palms of the hands over the knees with straight arms to support the upper parts of the body (Figure 12), 3) Relax the muscular system of the body and perform calm deep respiration, 4) Concentrate to elongate and straighten the back bone but with the relaxed muscles, 5) Together with the calm deep inhalation perform slowly the forward press of the vertebra in the lumbar zone to lift the sacral bones (Figure 13), 6) Hold the backbone in the curve position while performing the calm deep exhalation, 7) Maintain the curve position of the backbone and relax the muscular system while executing calm respiration, 8) Without changing the curve position of the backbone repeat steps 5, 6, and 7 until the body could afford to resist the performance.  Another method for this exercise is the reverse bending of the lumbar zone.  This is done by pressing the vertebra of the lumbar zone backward following the same techniques in respiration (Figure 14 and 15).  These two methods of the preparatory exercises should be done one at a time.

Preparatory Exercise 2

     This preparatory exercise assists in liberating the lumbar zone and the hip joints.  This stretches the central part of the body to liberate the sciatic nerves attached to the lumbar zone and the sciatic nerves along the trunk of the body.  This exercise aids in the lubrication and the liberation of the backbone.  To perform this preparatory exercise, follow this procedure: 1) Sit erect on a chair with open legs at equilibrium, 2) Relax the muscular system of the body and perform calm deep breathing, 3) Without changing the position of the open legs, slowly twist the body to face the front of the left leg, 4) Place the palms of the hands over the lap of the left leg while focusing the eyes forward at a certain point (Figure 16), 5) Without changing the focus of the eyes and the position of the dorsal vertebra, bend the body slowly forward coupled with calm deep inhalation (Figure 17), 6) Hold the body in the last bent position and perform calm deep exhalation, 7) Without changing the bent position of the body and the focus of the eyes, perform calm respiration, 8) Without changing the bent position of the body and the focus of the eyes repeat steps 4, 5, and 6 and continue repeating until the body could afford to resist.  Follow the same procedure for the body forward bending on the right side.  These two methods of exercises must be done one at a time.

Preparatory Exercise 3

     This preparatory exercise helps in liberating and lubricating the skeletal parts of the anklet and the knee.  It stretches also the bone joint of the femur for the lubrication of the bone parts.  It helps the maintenance of the elasticity of the tendons and cartilages of the legs.  The sciatic nerves in the lumbar zone which support the functions of the legs are also stretch for liberation.  The movements of the blood and body liquid are being helped through the automatic mutual pressing by the side of the foot and the muscles on the lap of the leg.  The exercise tries to stretch all the tendons of the toes of the foot that is over the lap of the leg.  To perform this preparatory exercise follow this procedure: 1) Sit erect on the chair and place the left foot over the lap of the right leg (Figure 18), 2) Perform calm and deep respiration while trying to maintain the body at equilibrium, 3) Pull slightly the left foot closer to the body while performing calm deep inhalation (Figure 19), 4) Without changing the position of the foot perform calm deep exhalation, 5) Without changing the position of the body perform calm respiration while trying to relax the muscular system of the body, 6) Without changing the position of the body repeat steps 3, 4 and 5 and continue until the body could afford to resist.  This preparatory exercise must also be done with the right foot over the lap of the left leg.  The two methods of the exercises must be done one at a time.

 

Preparatory Exercise 4

     This exercise aims to improve the flexibility of the hip joints and the whole of the backbone.  This will help the knee joints, anklets and articulations to be liberated.  The exercise helps to soften the muscular system in the loins of the legs.  This preparatory exercise must be performed over the wooden floor or protected pavement to avoid the touch of the cold temperature in the legs of the performer.  It is better to use hard protective covering over the pavement to effectuate effective natural pressing of the muscular system of the legs.  To perform the preparatory exercise follow this procedure: 1) Sit erect on the floor with the legs in front, soles of the feet facing each other, similar to the natural position of the hind legs of the frog (Figure 20), 2) The backbone should be at equilibrium with base at the sacral bones, 3) Look forward and focus the eyes at a certain point while performing calm deep respiration, 4) Without changing the position of the dorsal part of the backbone and focus of the eyes, bend the body slowly forward while performing the calm deep inhalation (Figure 21), 5) Without changing the bent position of the body and focus of the eyes, perform the calm deep exhalation, 6) In the same body position perform calm deep respiration while trying to relax the muscular system of the body specially the legs, 7) Without changing the bent position and the focus of the eyes repeat steps 4, 5, and 6,  8) Remain in the last bent position while performing calm deep respiration until the body could afford to resist the position.

Preparatory Exercise 5

     The objectives and the initial position of the body of this preparatory exercise are similar to that of exercise number 4.  To perform this exercise follow this procedure: 1) Sit erect on the floor with the legs in front, soles of the feet facing each other, similar to the natural position of the hind legs of the frog, 2) Fold the left leg inward placing the heel of the foot in the nearest possible distance to the head of the femur bone (Figure 22), 3) Perform deep calm respiration with the backbone at equilibrium and focus the eyes forward at a certain point, 4) Without changing the position of the dorsal vertebra and the focus of the eyes, slowly bend the body forward while performing the calm deep inhalation (Figure 23), 5) Hold the body in the bent position and perform the calm deep exhalation, 6) While in the bent position perform calm respiration and try to relax the muscular system of the body specially the legs, 7) Without changing the body position repeat steps 4, 5, and 6,  8) Remain in the last position and perform calm respiration until the body could afford to resist.  The exercise should also be done in the reverse position with the right leg folded.  The two methods of exercises should be done one at a time.

Preparatory Exercise 6

     The objectives and the initial position of this preparatory exercise are similar to exercise 4.  The stretching and twisting are concentrated around the head of the femur bone.  The left leg is folded outward similar to the position of the folded hind leg of the frog.  To perform this preparatory exercise follow this procedure: 1) Sit erect with the legs in front, soles of the feet facing each other, 2) Look forward and focus the eyes at a certain point and perform calm deep respiration while searching to relax the muscular system of the body, 3) Fold the left leg outward and place the heel of the foot to the nearest possible distance with the head of the femur bone (Figure 24), 4) Without changing the position of the dorsal vertebra and the focus of the eyes, slowly bend the body forward while performing the calm deep inhalation (Figure 25), 5) Hold the bent position of the body while doing the calm deep exhalation, 6) Remain in the bent position and perform calm respiration to relax the muscular system of the body specially the legs, 7) Without changing the bent position and the focus of the eyes repeat steps 4, 5, and 6,  8) Remain in the last position while performing calm respiration until the body could resist.  This exercise should also be done with the right leg folded.  The two methods of preparatory exercises should be done one at a time.

     There are times when a particular part of the human body suffers the total energy block coupled with severe pain.  This leads into the condition of the body wherein there is the loss of muscular energy or the inability of the person to move the part of the body affected.  The energy block coupled with pain could be experienced not only by the old and aged people but even by the young people.  The problem of the painful energy block is usually caused by the touch of the cold temperature to the warm, tired and sweating body.  This could also be caused by the abusive exertion of the muscular force.  The block coupled with the severe pain could happen to everyone during the duration of the lifespan.  For this reason, it is important for everyone to learn the various methods of the first aide techniques applicable during the occurrence of the painful blocks.  The application of the first aide techniques could lessen the sufferings of the individual meanwhile that the therapy massage treatments are not yet applied.  There is the possibility for the pains to be healed after the application of the first aide techniques.  However, this is not a sign that the problem of the person is resolved.  It is advisable to submit for the massage therapy treatments to eliminate the root causes of the problem after the application of the first aide techniques.  Never ignore the energy block coupled with severe pain because this could create problems in the internal energy of the body.  The energy block coupled with pain are only the symptoms of the existing problems inside the body parts affected.  The root causes of the painful energy block could never be resolved by the mere application of the first aide techniques herein presented.

     The warm temperature which is maintained in the part of the body affected assists in the healing of the energy block and the existing pain.  The human body has the built-in mechanism of self-healing which function effectively when supported by the proper warm temperature.  For this reason, it is advisable to cover the part of the body affected to protect it from the touch of the cold air especially during the night time.  The cover in the part affected is necessary specially after the application of the first aide techniques.  The sick person must not wet the body during the occurrence of the serious energy blocks and within twenty four hours after the application of the first aide treatment.  The person should avoid the exertion of muscular force whenever there is the occurrence of painful energy block.  The alcoholic drinks which accelerate the blood and body liquid circulation are to be avoided when there is the occurrence of painful body blocks.  Except for the case of headache, the sick person with body painful blocks should avoid resting in bed.  The person should move to create internal heat through the intra-cellular frictions.  The calm walking and the normal body movements help in the healing of the painful energy block.

 

     The Energy Block on Heel/Anklet.  There are people who suffer slight pains on the heel or anklet but are not worried and give less attention to the problem.  There are times during the cold period when the slight problem becomes serious and blocks with severe pain the normal movements of the heel or anklet.  The occurrence of the painful energy block may cause a person to suffer temporary partial paralysis.  The pain relieving medicines prescribed by the medical doctor may help ease the situation.  Should the medicines fail to give the positive results, the first aide techniques may be applied for the temporarily liberation of the energy block on the heel or anklet.  The first aid technique for the painful block means the sufferance of more pain during the application of the treatment.  There is no other way to liberate the heel and anklet in the shortest possible time except to resist and suffer the pain during the first aide treatment.  After the application of the first aide techniques, the foot should be covered by thick sock to maintain the warm temperature and to prevent the touch of air.  The person should try to slowly walk in the natural manner giving as much body weight as he can resist in the heel affected.  The sacrifice and resistance to pain while pressing the heel with the body weight accelerate the healing time.

 

Use of the round object

     Follow the steps of the procedure: 1) Take a marble or round rubber ball with a diameter not less than two centimetres but not exceeding three centimetres, 2) Place cover protection on the cold pavement and put the round object over,3) Place the heel over the marble and gradually press with the weight of the body, 4) Identify the painful parts of the heel and concentrate there the pressing of the round ball. Use of the round stick

     Follow the steps of the procedure: 1) Take a short round stick with a diameter not less than two centimetres but not exceeding three centimetres, 2) Place cover protection on the cold pavement and put the round stick over, 2) Place the heel over the stick and then gradually press through the use of the body weight, 3) Identify the painful parts of the heel and concentrate there the pressing.
